How to Offer Condolences
As we’ve mentioned before, we’re not very good at dealing with death. Our ineptitude on this score doesn’t just affect how we deal with noting the deaths of celebrities, but also our more personal interactions with those who have experienced a loss. It’s difficult to talk about because there is a risk of appearing to lack the appropriate level of empathy, when all you’re really trying to say is that, though the emotion is there, you just don’t have the words.
In anycase, we certainly appreciated this post over at Lifehack.org.
