EFF/Threat Level Needs Your Help

Remember back in 2006, when an insider accused AT&T of providing its customers’ phone and Internet traffic directly to the NSA for data mining? Do you also recall how the resultant lawsuit was dismissed because Congress voted to give telephone companies special protection from lawsuits of this kind?

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is investigating the behind-the-scenes machinations that led to Congress’s decision to grant immunity to telcos, and has made thousands of pages of records, that they received as a result of a FOIA request, available on their website.

Wired’s Threat Level blog is asking for help to pour over those documents. Details here.
